How to read a Trial Balance
Every ledger has a balance — either Debit or Credit, never both. Assets, expenses and losses show debit balances. Liabilities, income and gains show credit balances. If totals match, the double-entry has been correctly applied. A difference indicates a missing or incorrect entry.
