Income Tax — Block of Assets
Under Income Tax Act, WDV depreciation is computed on a pool (block) of assets of the same class — not on individual assets. All assets of the same type (e.g., all computers) are pooled together. Additions and deletions during the year are adjusted proportionately. This tool computes per-asset depreciation for accounting purposes (Companies Act / as-incurred basis). For IT block computation, aggregate assets of the same class and apply the block rate to the combined WDV.
